LD - Loadisc™ Reaction Washer

The LoaDisc™ is JETYD’s most cost effective way to remove the need for an external reaction arm to improve operator's safety and avoid side-load to achieve a calibrated bolt load accuracy measurement-free.

Loadisc™ Reaction Washer Overview

DW Disc Washer Loadisc™

The LoaDisc™ eliminates all the drawbacks of hydraulic torque and tension tools by assuring failure-free startups, hands-free safe in half the time. When a LoaDisc™ is placed under a standard nut, torque can be applied without damaging or marring adjacent nuts, flanges or the tool.

The unique configuration of the LoaDisc™ turns the standard nut into a high accuracy device by removing uncontrolled flange friction and nut side loading. The LoaDisc™ provides the operator with a completely hands free and reaction free nut tightening operation.

The Loadisc™ functions like a simple washer placed under a conventional hex nut.

DM Dream Maker Loadisc™

Each Loadisc™ has a threaded insert pressed into the bottom of the body. The Loadisc™ is installed on a bolted application just before the hex nut. Using a special socket the Loadisc™ body is utilized as a reaction point for applying torque to the hex nut. As the stud stretches during tightening the threaded insert travels upward and creates twisting resistance on the stud threads which eliminates the need for a backup wrench.

LD Loadisc™ Steps for Specifying Proper Size

CN Series Clamp Diagram When ordering a LoaDisc for your application, check the following:

  1. Stud thread pitch
  2. Across fl ats of nut is less than that of the LoaDisc
  3. Stud extension is less than the max stroke of LoaDisc, include joint closure when determining this.
  4. Sufficient overhead clearance for tooling

BLANK SIZE

Each LoaDisc is designed to accommodate similar sized metric and inch threads. This allows us to control the drives.

SIZE CODE

We stock thread pitches shown in table at left. If your application requires a pitch outside this range, contact a JETYD application engineer.

HEIGHT

This is the overall height of the LoaDisc. When determining clearances, take into account top nut.

TRAVEL

The max extension the disc will allow, if your application requires longer stud extensions, contact a JETYD applications engineer.

THREADS

The LoaDisc can accommodate all thread classes for standard UN (ANSI/ASME B1.1-1989 (R2001)) and Metric sizes (ISO 68 and ANSI/ASME B1.13M). For any class other than this, please contact JETYD appli-cations engineer.
